We’re back with an Easter Egg Hunt Episode 6 The last of us. Last week we had a harrowing episode with Henry, Sam and the infected underground. In this week’s episode, we have many smaller references to both The Last of Us Part I and The last of us II. To avoid spoiling the second game of Season 2 and potential events, we’re going to break down the Easter Eggs based on which game they’re in, so let’s get started. The Last of Us Part I and give a spoiler warning before it arrives II. the part.


Winter Rabbits

At the beginning of the episode, we get the intro, a brief recap of last week’s harrowing moment with Henry, followed immediately by text that says “3 months later.” We’re now in the Winter part of the story, one of the most emotional parts of the game, but we see Joel and Ellie’s relationship start to strengthen, and we get it in this episode. When the Winter chapter begins in the video game, we see Ellie shooting a rabbit with a bow and arrow. Here, things play out a little differently. Joel and Ellie ask a couple for directions, and Ellie steals one of the rabbits. Asking if he will teach Joel how to hunt.

As Joel and Ellie continue their journey through the mountains, Ellie passes the time trying to whistle. Here, the scenes and dialogues are verbatim, in fact video gamealthough this interaction occurs at a different point in the story.

Joel and Ellie have their first big argument, and it’s one of the most iconic scenes in the entire franchise. Although the scene setup is different from the game, the ending is the same. Ellie finally confronts Sarah about Joel, and things get heated. Loss is an essential theme in the series. Every episode has highlighted how Joel and Ellie need each other to survive, and this episode leans into that. From Ellie and Joel’s clothes to the wallpaper and newspapers in the room, this scene fits the moment of the game perfectly.

Joel is finally starting to open up after months of Ellie coming out of his shell. After telling Ellie that she would like to own a small sheep farm, she changes her tune about what she really wants to do with her life. He would like to be a famous singer. This exhilarating moment rose The Last of Us Part I. We hope to hear from you Peter Pascal Sing 80s power ballads before the season ends.

First time seeing a monkey?

As Joel and Ellie arrive at the Fireflies facility, they see a troop of monkeys wandering the grounds. Ellie is surprised to see a monkey face to face for the first time. This particular moment was also seen The Last of Us Part I, Joel asking the same question: “First time you see a monkey?”

Joel and Ellie are captured by a group patrolling by the river. We learn that Tommy’s wife, Maria, and his scouts were the ones who introduced them to their thriving community. This is where Joel and Ellie live in the beginning The last of us II, and we also have a scene at the community center where Ellie and Dina dance. As Joel and Ellie meet Maria, there is a brief shot of a girl who looks like Dina staring at Ellie. Could that be our first look at Ellie’s love interest for next season? We don’t have official word on that, but it’s definitely possible.

Ellie’s Love For The Stars

In one of the most emotional moments of The Last of Us Part II, we see Joel taking Ellie to the museum on her birthday. He loves space, which could be Savage Starlight’s job. The two have a wonderful day learning about the solar system and rocket ships. In the series, Ellie reveals her love for Sally Ride, the first American woman to fly into space.

Sheep Farm

Ellie asks Joel what he wants to do when they synthesize the cure from his blood, and Joel says he’d like a sheep farm. during The last of us II, we see that Ellie and Dina have a sheep farm. Maybe Ellie took over Joel’s farm? Or maybe it served as inspiration.

Shimmer The Horse

At the barn, Maria introduces Ellie to the horses, specifically showing off her Shimmer. In The last of us II, Shimmer is the name of Ellie’s horse, which means that Maria will probably give her a horse in the future. Ellie and Shimmer are going through a tough time in the game, so I hope they don’t want the same tragic outcome in the future.
