The Duttons have certainly made their fair share of enemies as they fight to protect their Yellowstone ranch and good name. Taylor Sheridan‘s 1923. One of these enemies is a rogue pastor named Banner Creighton. The actor who plays Dutton’s nemesis and Donald Whitfield’s right-hand man will no doubt be recognized by savvy TV fans (Timothy Dalton) from various past projects, both on the small screen and in films.

Game of Thrones fans know him as Bronn, a charming and witty mercenary who is a very skilled swordsman and ends up being Jamie Lannister’s traveling companion (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) ran from 2010 to 2019 on the HBO mega-hit. While watching 1923you will fondly remember Flynn’s Game of Thrones The character of Bronn appeared in nine of the show’s 10 seasons beginning with its debut in 2010. A skilled swordsman and a man of low birth and no title, he appears in the first season at an inn in The Crossroads, where he approaches Tyrion Lannister. Flynn brings a deft combination of believable physicality, humor, and a stark realist approach that borders on amorality to a character for nearly the entirety of the show’s 10-year run. It’s very much a testament to Flynn and his passion for the role that he didn’t become an author. George RR Martin‘s (or showrunners David Benioff and DB Weiss‘) killing tangential characters for so long. For all his trouble and loyal service to various members of the Lannister family, Bronn was made Lord of Highgarden.

In 2016, in the third season of the famous and fascinating BBC dark series Black Mirror, Flynn appears in episode 3 titled “Shut Up and Dance”. It’s one of the most notable and lauded entries in the acclaimed series, which sees Flynn’s character Hector team up with Kenny (Alex Lawther) as they both complete an unfortunate and deadly task given to them by an anonymous online threat. The two must do some odd jobs to prevent a mysterious blackmailer who communicates only through social media from revealing their deepest and darkest secrets.

For Hector, if Kenny doesn’t hold up his end of the bargain, his wife will be informed of his unscrupulous rendezvous with a sex worker at a local hotel. Flynn is terrific as a man at the end of his rope, who must work with his victim to thwart a vicious online predator. It’s another chance for the actor to show off his dramatic chops while sharing some lighthearted moments along the way.

In the third episode of great success Keanu Reeves the feeling John Wick, Flynn takes on the role of Berrada. And if you were to ask his character in the movie if there’s a fate worse than death, he’d say, “Definitely!” Portraying a Bond-like Moroccan villain in the city of Casablanca, it’s quite a departure for the English-born actor, whose bread and butter has always been in the realm of certain roles.

As Berrada, Flynn dives headfirst into the part while serving as Sofia’s partner in Wick (Halle Berry) former boss and relationship with The Elder, Wick’s character is seeking redemption for the unauthorized murder of High Table criminal Santino D’Antonio. Flynn supports himself as a gold coin dealer. Unfortunately, he does what you don’t do around Wick or Sofia and shoots his dog dead. Killing dogs around John Wick is a terrible idea, even if it’s not his. After a shot to his nether regions, Sofia lands a knee kick instead of a mercy kick, leaving Berrada a screaming, bloody mess.

There’s no denying that Flynn makes a delicious villain 1923background Yellowstone. Banner Creighton and Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) comes to mind early and often for Banner’s supposed transgression in allowing his flock of sheep to feed on grass on his Yellowstone Ranch property. He is against the law, but he ignores Jacob’s warning, and after a second crime, Dutton decides to tie Banner and his men to a tree on horseback, with their hands tied behind their backs. If the horses decide to take off for any reason, the men will be left hanging. Banner is the only one of the five men to hold the horse under him long enough to come up with a plan to free himself. It is the opening salvo in the war between Banner’s outlaw gangs, which are financially backed by the Dutton family and ruthless gold miner Donald Whitfield.

In this role, Flynn brings a wonderful Scottish accent to the part of an immigrant who wants to cut corners to establish himself on Montana’s rugged and sometimes lawless frontier during the early stages of the Great Depression, Prohibition, and drought conditions. You see the same bravery and cruelty in Creighton’s Berrada character John Wickbut also elements of equestrian Bronn inside 1923 evil too.
